Rest in pieces

We awoke this morning to find that our beloved coffee maker had expired sometime during the night.

Dear Black & Decker VersaBrew,

You have been a good and loyal friend for the last four years. When we moved into this house you were just a youngster. You brewed your first pot in this house. You have given us coffee daily, sometimes twice, without complaint. You have tolerated my less than stellar cleaning schedule and even survived your wild leap out of my soapy hands which landed you in the floor.

I knew you were feeling badly when you began to groan when asked for a pot of coffee. You began to chug and your desire to retire was coming across loud and clear.

Sadly, your replacement is not of your model. I suppose you have been upgraded by a new and flashier version of your very nifty self.

Rest in pieces my friend. You will be missed.

I have the one on the left in Black. It wakes me up every morning at 5:55 making a sweet burb of fresh coffee.

A sad day indeed!! RIP, Versabrew, you served your friends well, I'm sure!

*sniff* *sniff* Over the years we've lost a few of our coffeemaker friends, so we DO feel your pain!

I can relate to your sad morning. I like my first cup of brewed coffe too.

I hope the new pot makes just as good coffee.

I would absolutely die if that happened to me...but you are right, they dutifully serve their time and then they must go...

I know it is a sad time, but you will make it. :)

I sure can relate! Ours was acting funny a month ago so I went ahead and got a new one before it went out! I miss the old one, it broke in! Enjoy your brew, as I do too!
