She had emailed me to let me know she was coming tomorrow. I read the email yesterday morning and thought tomorrow was today (Wednesday). LOL! Nope, she sent the email on Monday.
I felt like such a goober. My shirt was filthy and my face probably needed scrubbing. I'd been canning beans and had just gotten home with 18-1/2 pounds of black-eyed peas when she called to say they were in town. I was flustered.
She brought me a box to swap for some glassware. I didn't open it until after she'd left and mercy, would you look at what she gave me.
My very first piece of Fenton. I love it!We had a good visit and I sent her home with cinnamon pickles and jam. Hopefully she and her hubby weren't too put out by my lack of hostess skills and will come and see me again. I promise to do better next time.

Good heavens, woman! I didn't think a thing was amiss so stop apologizing! You sent me home with so many goodies, it was like Christmas! I was happy to meet all your family.
I hope you enjoy the bowl. I think the silver crest pieces are so pretty.

Oh my hang onto that Fenton piece. Fenton's is about to go under ... my SIL lost his job over a year ago. Too sad.
