Re-doing a wreath

Tonight I sat in the floor and picked berries and pine cones off a wreath. Sound exciting? Want to come help me?

I'm not even going to get into how long I've had this thing and how long I've planned to remake it. Let's just say it's been a while.

Now I have a naked wreath ready for some new redo.

I hope everyone is having a great week.

More sanding?

Unfortunately.

I got the second coat on yesterday and I'm in the process of sanding. I really dislike sanding this stuff.

DH decided before we started this that he wasn't mudding or sanding. It's a job he hates.

I'll give him this, he's been a man of his word. While I've been cussing and on the verge of tears a few times, he's been in his recliner watching TV.

Lousy man of his word.

I can say I've mudded and sanded 1371.5 square feet of drywall, including the ceiling.

It's done

Hallelujah! Unfortunately we had some casualties. The sander and the shop vac both bit the dust. Literally. Rest in pieces.

Today I've spent some quality time with a broom and dust pan. I'm so glad my granny taught me how to sweep.

In other news, I took the trim to the wood man and he's making me 98 feet of trim to match the original stuff. It should be ready in two weeks. Hopefully I'll be ready for it.

I hate this

But at least I'm on schedule. I started sanding bright and early this morning. I hope to put the second coat on later today. I can only sand for so long before a)I can't breathe for the dust, or b)my hands go numb. It's going to be a long day.

Back on track

DH shared his cooties with me and now I'm sick. I'm feeling better now that I've taken enough drugs to sink a battle ship.

I have my Christmas cards ready for the mail, except for one. ReRe, I can't email you. Your email isn't in your profile. Would you mind dropping me a line?

The weatherman has been saying a four letter word. He's talking snow for Monday night and possibly Tuesday. We'll see. Just in case I decided to go ahead and put flannel sheets on the bed. Penguins anyone? These are a clearance buy from 2 or 3 years ago. Who can be grumpy sleeping with penguins?

That's all I've got for now. I need more tea. I hope everyone is having a good weekend and looking forward to the coming week.

What can I say?

This blog is my happy place and when I'm not happy I have a hard time being here.

Right now life is like walking down a tree lined path,
with the fungus of unhappiness lurking just around the corner in the shadows.
And if I'm not careful, it will wrap me in its gossamer strands.
I'm on the lookout for happy days again and hope to be back soon.

Company is coming! Company is coming!

One if by land, two if by sea.

Okay, I'm over it. Seriously though, the first bunch should arrive sometime tonight and instead of posting to this silly blog I should be scrubbing bathrooms. (Hi, Mom!)

My mother has been over every day this week, whip in hand (joking), to help me get ready. More than anything she's helped keep me motivated by just being here and visiting while I cleaned.
Here's the dining room from H-E-double hockey sticks. You can see the top of the table and the floor. It's amazing!

I must say, with the exception of the computer room and our bedroom, my house is sparkly clean and I love it. Now I just need to maintain it.

Speaking of sparkly, I noticed a slug trail in the laundry room this morning. That makes two mornings this week. Ugh! I really dislike slugs.

In crafting news, there isn't any. I haven't done my star block yet for week two. Maybe I can do it tonight if I get the bathrooms done and shopping completed.

We got about 3-1/2 inches of rain over the last couple of days. I'm glad to see it since that means I don't have to water. I'm worried about graduation day though. I'm praying it doesn't rain then.

Okay, I'm off to scrub toilets. Don't I lead a glamorous life?
