Happy Independence Day

Of course I'm a day late. I had way too many irons in the fire yesterday.

The day started with Mom coming over to help do up a dozen jars of peach jam. This is a lot darker than the other, but just as yummy.

Mom and Annie and her family came over and ate with us. After dinner we went out on the back patio and visited in the rain. I don't know anyone that wasn't wet when we got done. I enjoyed it, even the being soggy part. After Annie and crew left we went and watched the fireworks. Nothing too exciting this year. Low key and relaxed, just the way I like it.

I hope each of you had a wonderful Independence Day.

It was a nice evening and my poor plants appreciated the rain.

I had a very nice evening... a delicious meal with family and friends.... can't tell you the last time I got to sit in the rain, but it's been too long! We've had aged-parent-drama every Fourth for so many years. It was so nice to have a good time again. Thank you!

Oh I do hate missing out on a party amongst friends! Sounds like a lot of fun! I've always loved the rain and when it is warm out and no thunder/lightening, I also love just being IN it!

I have to say, darlin', that I really like your decorating style. I think I would have a great time trouncing through the antique stores with you!
